Do you have a fever?

Bolest v krku Mamavis priessnitzovy zábaly na respirační onemocnění

Fever occurs when the human body temperature rises above 38°C/104°. The most common causes of fever are infections – bronchitis, upper respiratory infections or urinary tract infections.

Fever is very important for fighting infections. In some ways, it is not good to lower the temperature too much because a higher temperature stimulates the growth and function of white blood cells, which fight microorganisms. A higher temperature also inhibits the growth of bacteria. In some cases, therefore, an elevated body temperature is desirable and natural. But how can you lower the temperature if it is too high or persists for a long time?

Using Mamavis wraps

If the temperature is above 38°C/100.4°F, use a cold wrap on the chest, forehead or feet (wet slippers). If the temperature is above 39°C/102.2°F, use a full-body wrap.

Do not use a cold wrap if you have chills.

Apply for 5-8 minutes. Repeat about 4 times in succession, lowering the temperature by 1°C/33.8°F if necessary.

Apply the Priessnitz wrap:

Remove the inner removable part (compress) of the wrap and soak it in cold water (it is important to choose the temperature of the water according to the patient’s condition – for healthy adults the temperature can be 8-16°C/46-60°F (it is important to choose the water temperature according to the patient’s condition – for children we choose less cold water, around 22°C/71°F).
Place the wrung out compress back into the wrap strip.
Wrap the wrap around the affected area and fasten with Velcro. The wrap should adhere well.
