Priessnitz wrap i.e. You can also enrich the cold water with the power of herbs. Lemon is an old proven remedy for sore throats and hoarseness. Its juice is refreshing and cooling, which is pleasant, and it soothes the pain. Inflammation of the tonsils or throat can be effectively “suppressed” or at least eased by lemon packs.
What we need:
1 lemon
1 Priessnitz Throat wrap
How to use:
First, cut the lemon into thin slices, about half a centimeter thick, and place on the inside of the neck wrap pocket side by side. We need about two to five slices depending on the size and circumference of the neck.
Fasten with Velcro wrap.
Place the inner part of the wrap (containing the lemon slices in a single layer) on the neck from ear to ear, ensuring that the spine area remains free. This is important because covering the cervical spine is very uncomfortable.
Leave the lemon wrap on the neck for about 20 -30 minutes-no longer, so that the skin is not irritated by the substances from the lemon. If there are signs of intolerance, such as itching or burning, remove the wrap immediately!
After removing of the wrap, gently dry the neck to prevent cooling. Keep the neck warm with the throat wrap as required.
The lemon wrap can be used once a day for several consecutive days.
What else can a lemon do?
- When taken internally: lemon flavonoids protect cells and blood vessels, allow good wound healing, are anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic.
- For colds. Garlic, which has antibacterial properties, is good for tonsillitis.
- For external use: washing with lemon solution can reduce increased sweating (rub into armpits, palms, soles of feet). Also relieves itching, insect stings or mild sunburn.
- Cosmetic: As a lotion, it is used to cleanse the skin and keep it supple. For youthful acne (antibacterial and anti-inflammatory). In lubrication with essential oils (2% in massage oils), lemon essential oil tightens connective tissues and is therefore a prevention of cellulite, scarlet lines and wrinkles.
- In folk medicine: coffee with lemon and salt for acute migraine attacks.
Tip: Lemon Priessnitz slipper wrap
For fever, lemon socks are pleasantly cooling. Mix the juice of half a lemon in a glass of cold water, soak the socks in it, wring them out and put them on. Fasten the wrap slippers over them and leave them on for 20-30 minutes.
